Original Pokemon Project: #006 Flareolf (Draft)

I started a project a while ago of creating a Pokemon based on and for my friends. The criteria for this project that each of the Pokemon has a base stat of 550, is a single stage Pokemon with Mega Evolution (to be uploaded in the future) and would be a strong Pokemon you'd find later in the game (like Scyther and Magmar in the original games). 
I also undertook this project to help push my drawing and shading skills to the next level and you can actually seem them improve other the course of the project.

I made Flareolf for my friend Chris who is a big fan of Werewolves and Fire-type Pokemon like Arcanine. I was designing him around the time they revealed Lycanroc's Midnight form and so he got worked into the mix of making a fire-type werewolf. The colours for Flareolf came from a werewolf pic my friend Emma had done for him and luckily the colours worked for a fire type. I do have to say that I'm still not happy with the shading on this picture especially the legs; for someone who is new to cell-shading (well shading in general) have fire all over the design doesn't help but hopefully one day I'll finally get it looking ok.

Ability wise Flareolf has Flame Body and Blaze with Speed Boost as the hidden. Flame Body is easy enough to see why and I thought it would be interesting for a non-starter to have the Blaze ability plus it kind of works with the lore for this Pokemon. The hidden ability pairs well this Flareolf's stats and is a common hidden ability because its so useful.

Example moves from Flareolf's moveset include Howl, Fire Fang, Night Slash, Double Team and Flame Charge.

Stat wise Flareolf is quite common for Fire types, high attack stats and high speed but frail mostly in the Special Defences.

Once I've completed all the mega forms I'll upload a full infograph type picture which will contain the full move list, base stat distribution, shiny colouration and more.
